Stage II Recovery Series: Part 4 Working a Program

Stage II Recovery Series: Part 4 Working a Program

In this final section of this program, viewers learn specific strategies to successfully work a program, in order to get well and stay well. What is a "program?" It is not simply a 12-step program. A program is a series of small behaviors that, if done consistently, create new life options. A 12-step program is only part of a full recovery. In addition to a focused, accountable, consistent, practical and concrete 12-step program, sufficient sleep, regular exercise, and ample nutrition can also be a part of an effective program. Daily affirmations can improve one's thought pattern and internal dialogue, and daily input such as books and videos allow new and positive ideas to enter one's consciousness.

This section suggests that recovery is an active and consistent choice, yet also a willingness to receive the rewards of such work.
